Maria Thornton

Director

Maria is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent with more than 20 years’ experience advising businesses, family groups and individuals. Her career has included senior roles within large advisory firms, providing taxation and business advice to privately owned businesses and high-net-worth family groups.

Maria works closely with privately owned businesses, family groups, property investors and professionals, delivering proactive taxation, accounting and business advice focused on achieving practical outcomes.

Maria assists clients with taxation planning, business structuring, cash flow management, succession planning and complex tax matters. She has particular expertise in Division 7A compliance, inter-entity loan arrangements and working with family groups and business structures.

Outside the office, Maria enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her children in their sporting pursuits, usually with a coffee close at hand.

Maria has a family background in small business and is passionate about helping small businesses succeed. She has a deep understanding of the issues facing small business and works with them to help them become financially organised.

Maria can assist with cash flow management, complex tax matters and guiding small businesses to reach their goals. She has particular expertise in unravelling inter-entity loans and managing Division7A requirements.

When Maria is not crunching numbers you will find her spending time with her young family, running around for kids sport and most likely clutching a coffee!
